My journey

Hello! I’m Anna Thomas, a graphic designer specializing in brand strategy and identity. I believe good design is accessible and memorable, inviting people to engage with new ideas and messages by sparking imagination.

While in Interior Design school, I dedicated myself to lettering every day for a year. When I made it to the end of my self-assigned project, I realized I had gained a passion for lettering. I fell in love with the expressive intricacies of typography and followed this passion to ArtCenter College of Design where I earned a Master of Fine Art in Graphic Design.

During my time at ArtCenter, I combined my past experience with research-based spatial design and my typographic skillset to create multidimensional brand identities. Since then, I have worked with a wide variety of brands, organizations, and individuals, to develop and shape brand identities that communicate the very heart of their mission and goals.

My endless passion for discovery has shaped my process as a designer who strives to make meaningful and articulate work.

Approach

I believe in a collaborative approach that is anchored in research and context-responsive solutions.

#01

Consensus Building

Every successful project begins with a strong foundation. I begin my process as a designer by working with you to gain a crystal clear understanding of your goals, timeline, and context. From researching your competitor landscape to learning your company’s history, I believe the best design solutions will reflect who you are.

#02

Iteration & Exploration

Ensuring that our design is the best possible solution involves testing and experimenting with ideas. In this phase we will collaborate to compare different ideas and potential design pathways. We'll work together to find a pathway that matches your goals.

#03

Development

Once we have an idea that we are hooked on, I will begin the process of developing the idea into a design system or visual language that supports your brand values and message. From color to photography style, we will develop a system that is timeless and flexible to meet your needs.

#04

Execution

Evaluating how the design solution is performing for you is an important part of my process. I always want to ensure that you have the right building blocks to serve you for years to come as your company grows. If a portion of the project isn’t working for you, let’s take it apart and refine it to make sure you're confident in your new design system.

Let’s bring your

big ideas to life
